The story so far: Feline corporate spy and Queen of Diamonds Rae Misere stole, and subsequently lost, an Excalibur Intelligence Agency briefcase in an attempt to impress her employer — who secretly had made a deal with Dr. Greeneye of Invidius Industries and Commander Deadhand of the EIA. Rae is captured by Greeneye, who plans to set off a missile that will spare the world’s “worthy” and kill everyone else. She is rescued by the King of Clubs, Alexander “Ruff” Shuffle, before Dr. Greeneye starts the doomsday countdown.
