The story so far: Ace Rocket was on a routine mission to bring a briefcase to the Excalibur Intelligence Agency’s headquarters, when one of the EIA’s top targets — Rae Misere, known as the Queen of Diamonds — tries to steal it from him. In lieu of killing or capturing her, Ace allows Rae to bring him to an even higher priority target, the canine King of Clubs. But Ace’s attempt to capture Alexander “Ruff” Shuffle backfires. Knocked out by Ruff’s smoky defense weapon, Ace has a vision of the past and previous card-wielders related to the Old Supper Club building he wakes up next to. And he is in big trouble now that the briefcase has been taken…
