A secret team of card suit-themed underdog heroes sets out to fight various schemes of the S.A.L.I.G.I.A. organization, but in order to confront the depth of S.A.L.I.G.I.A.’s authoritarian intentions, they must face the true mysteries within themselves…
Why this, why now?
I’ve been working on this story for many years. It’s no short-term bet!
I started this as a hand-drawn comic but my progress was slow. I’ve scripted out way more than I’ll have time to actually draw by myself, and when I realized that, I started to use a program called Manga Maker ComiPo that has pre-made 3D assets and characters rendered with a 2D cartoony look. It’s quite a bit different from my original intended art style and character designs, but it works in its own way, and I actually completed the 500+ page first story arc which I will be posting chapter by chapter.
I plan to incorporate my original art back into this project — maybe replacing the premade assets in Ship of Theseus style over time, and / or posting the story as an illustrated novel. In some form, the story and characters will look the way they were meant to look.
